Thank-you's

I'm watching the Oscars. It's quite impressive how people express their gratitude in the small time they are allotted. Some people like the director of Ida, a polish movie, had to take thrice the time and was almost pushed out with the customary "that's enough" music. But he persisted. He probably had too many people to thank.

Anyway, coming back to the point of this post. If I am awarded the highest award possible in my field (the Nobel or the Lasker), who will I thank?
